One thing I think that a lot of people forget about is that your legislators work for you.  They are not a special class above you.  They are supposed to be up there in  Denver or in Washington D.C. doing what their constituents want.

And, like an employee, if they don't do what their boss says, they're gonna get canned.  Unfortunately, the easiest way to fire a legislator takes a bit of a wait if it's not an election year, and they can sometimes do a lot of damage between now and then.
